It's that time in my life again. The baby won't sleep. She desperately needs to, but like any good King baby, she's gonna dig right in and not. God in Heaven, save me from willful babies!
It doesn't help that I'm stubborn, too, and that I don't do well with just hanging around, patiently helping the baby to sleep while there is chili, shepherd's pie, cookies and St. Patrick decorations to make. Or while there are floors to mop and clothes to fold. An hour and forty-five minutes of helping the baby to sleep . . . tends to make Good Mama walk out the door.
At the moment, I am officially off-duty while I recompose myself.
The worst part of Nap Wars is the inevitable tired, grumpy baby that I'm going to have to console tonight when it's time to put dinner together and then do a little work. I really dread that.
It could be the time change; it could be teething; it could be her persistent personality. When it comes down to it, though, it doesn't matter why she's fighting sleep. The little monkey needs to sleep!
Suggestions are plenty welcome.
Hey! You're not alone. Our little man has been struggling with sleep issues lately, too, but this is due to double ear infections. Like you, when I am laying beside him, I am thinking about all that I could be doing. These years will soon be over, though, so we really should try our best to enjoy the closeness they desire. :) Hang in there!
