Nursing bras

To all of you male readers out there, feel free to skip this one.  Totally feminine content ahead.

In all my years of child-bearing and rearing, I don't think I've ever found a satisfactory nursing bra.  I've tried so many--the Bravados (which I hate) and the this style and the that.  Underwire and no, they just don't seem to fit well.  I do all the measuring and calculating, and the best I can come up with is Leading Lady.  They seem to work for me--at least better than the others I've tried.

Now I'll admit that I've never paid more than $20 for a nursing bra, and perhaps that's my problem.  I'm not willing to go Anita or fancy or frilly.  Seems to me that fancy and frilly are just asking the baby to fiddle around more, and that's never a good thing to encourage.  I'd much rather the baby just get down to business, not wiggle around too much, and get it done.

Not that I don't love nursing and the closeness it brings--but babies with a lot of free reign tend to be unruly nursers in public.  Which of us doesn't have stories there?

Nursing bras are on my brain this morning because I noticed that the ones I have now are a little big.  Since conceiving, I've lost weight (which is great news) and I'm nursing less.  Plus, these have been around for a while, and that support is going.  After four babies, support is a good thing to have, so I think I'm in the market again.  I'm hoping this time around there will be more selection and reasonable prices:   a girl can hope, right?

I used to dream of normal bras with their regular construction and lack of moving parts.  One day . . . but I'm happy to still be thinking of nursing bras.  This time next year they'll be in regular use, and that's a wonderful thought.  If you have suggestions, please leave them for me!
