A Challenge

Nothing like knitting under the gun.  It's because I've knit several mittens in the past few days--they go so quickly!  Same thing for baby socks.  Quickly-finished projects boost my interest, I think, and with pace of finished objects and a natural deadline in place, I've got two new things on the needles.

One is a pair of mittens with this yarn I've been stashing for a while.  It's a cute colorway, and though I don't love self-striping ones, mittens in this particular one could work out well.  Haven't cast on yet, but I'm hoping to be doing so tomorrow afternoon.

Today I started a pair of footsies.  I've knit some before with a cable pattern, but I'm going straight stockinette to move them along.  In an aran yarn on 2s the fabric is dense and warm--it'll be hard to give them away.  But that is the plan.

My in-laws are coming on Friday evening.  That means one slipper this evening, one tomorrow morning, one mitten tomorrow afternoon, and the other Friday during the day.  Sure it can be done!  If not, I bet I can finish them before they leave Saturday morning.
