That tie really sucked the life out of my knitting. I hate it when a project does that. I am a finisher: I hate leaving things undone. But with knitting, I certainly do abandon projects. There are the slippers for Lulu that simply need one cuff reworked. There's a diaper soaker, a tote bag and a lace scarf. For whatever reason, I decided that I didn't like the yarn, pattern or finished object anymore, and now they're in limbo.
I'm just tired of knitting this tie. I wanted to finish, and those conflicting desires left me knitting nothing. It was terrible!
I'm back on now: Doodle's sweater is coming together quickly. I'm knitting a bottom-up raglan, and I've got the body ready to join in arms and finish up the v-neck and shoulders. One sleeve is on my needles, and I'm itching to move on this one. It's so much nicer than the tie: a bulky yarn, size 9s . . . I can *see* the progress (unlike the fingering yarn on size 2s).
This sweater will go forward, and soon I'll be casting on for Beatle's dress, which is what I really want to be knitting. I try to use my impulses to move the work along: I can do this *after* that is finished. Like that I don't end up with too many UFOs.
