When I worked or was in grad school, there were many opportunities to chat and commiserate with people, and that's about all I miss from that life. These days, I have my children to talk to most of the time, which means that I listen patiently to the description of the latest Lego creation's defense mechanisms and recreational content.
I always look forward to my husband coming home, if only because he is a wellspring of conversation. That man knows everything about anything important or unimportant. He's full of stories, anecdotes and little tidbits like the kind you used to see on VH-1 (that's how hip I am these days).
I get to hang out with my sister occasionally, and I've become friends with another homeschooling mama at my parish. I'd love to meet other knitters, bakers, cooks and mamas, but the main problem is that I never go anywhere. Honestly, I never want to. Am I the only one who dreads attempting to get them all dressed, ready, pottied, fed, watered, etc.? Plus, there's so much to be done here.
Well, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. How do you meet up with like-minded mamas when you're home in the thick of it most of the time?
Hi I'm here from Catholicmothersonline.com, where you are listed as a new member. welcome. oh your babies are beautiful. in response to your post, I don't have the answer, especially since I have a small family and also work outside the home. but check out these blogs of mommas who homeschool and have large families, and there is so much connection between moms online. you might enjoy them.

ReplyDeleteI agree with her...there are like-minded mommas to "chat" with in the blog world. I have so enjoyed meeting moms I never would have, otherwise.
AND, I agree with you...it's hard to get out!
