A new day

Life today, imagining another boy in the house.  Feels like I need to switch gears in a lot of ways--boys, after all, are different from girls.  One thing I love about having a few of each is that I'm mindful of how each one is feminine or masculine, but then brings his (and her) own expression of that.  It's fun trying to imagine how this one will grow up, and what kind of man he will be, and how this one will be a certain kind of woman all to herself--very different from her sister.  It's neat watching it all unfold from day to day.

Another little boy.  No more pinks for a while (or at least not baby pinks).  Hello, khakis and sweater vests (which I can now knit).  No more cute, teeny shoes?  Could it be God's way of helping me with the budget?

Different interests, different toys, different books . . . down the line, a different student to teach . . . all kinds of possibilities are lined up and opening before my eyes.  Thank you, Lord, for this new miracle and new avenue of grace.  For this little soul who will help me and the rest of us come closer to you!  For his perfect perfectness in all his littleness right now, and for the tiny man that he is becoming right now . . . I love that He has stooped and allowed me especially to participate in this awesome continuation of life.
