More knitting

I guess moving to one blog was the right thing to do.  I've had more to say about my knitting in the past 2 weeks than I did all last fall.  Of course, it's because I have such an interesting and fun subject to knit for.

Now that I know what I'm having, I'm having all kinds of visions--sweaters, vests, socks . . . it's kind of nice to switch up from the pink sweaters and lacy dresses.  There are plans, though, for some lacy pink socks--more on that another day.

I finished one little shirt for New Baby, and I love the pattern and the yarn.  I wish I had more of the yarn, because I could have made matching pants had there been enough left over.  Alas.

But it got me thinking about making an ensemble, and it occurred to me that I might use a heavier yarn (quicker knitting) from my stash.  I found these super-cute shorties.  I don't know why I had the urge to knit an outfit that wasn't a romper--although a two-piece is way easier to manage than a one piece--but all the same I've decided on knitting little shorts and a henley-style short sleeve, using this pattern with heavy modifications.

Yesterday, with the afternoon free (thanks to my sister cooking dinner), I knocked out half the shorts, and in daydreaming while knitting I imagined longies with ribbed cuffs with a matching sweater or tunic for the fall.  Something warm and soft, and in a heavier yarn still--perhaps some interesting cables.  I've got 19 weeks to figure it all out.
